Free MLS Listings

I have been doing research into a free MLS listings alternative. In the world of Web 2.0, it makes no sense to me why someone hasn't had the brains (or the balls) to start a free place for people to post their property for sale.

I think that it is just silly that people have to pay such an exorbitant amount to a broker to get their houses listed on proprietary innefective state-run MLS systems.
